जिनसेंग फिकस (फिकस रेटुसा) अंजीर के पेड़ों के इस बड़े समूह की एक किस्म है। दक्षिण पूर्व एशिया के मूल निवासी, जिनसेंग फिकस को बरगद अंजीर, ताइवान फिकस और लॉरेल अंजीर भी कहा जाता है। यह दिखने में सबसे आकर्षक है क्योंकि इसकी जड़ें मोटी होती हैं जो जमीन की सतह के ऊपर खुली रहती हैं। बोन्साई के रूप में पैरों पर खड़े एक छोटे पेड़ का प्रभाव होता है।
पेड़ अंडाकार आकार, गहरे हरे पत्ते उगता है। जिनसेंग फिकस की सूंड मोटी और बल्बनुमा, लाल-भूरे रंग की होती है और इसमें बाघ जैसी धारियां होती हैं। पत्तियां घनी होती हैं, जिससे आपको एक मोटी छतरी मिलती है। जिनसेंग फिकस को बोन्साई वृक्ष के रूप में उगाने का सबसे अच्छा हिस्सा यह है कि इसे कम रखरखाव की आवश्यकता होती है।

Lets set the stage. The year is 2020, the world is quarantining for obvious reasons and some humans thought to themselves "Maybe I should get a plant?" whilst some nurseries thought to themselves "I wonder if people would want plants now?", these two forces aligned and thus created "PLANT PAREEENTSS". So as one of these 2020 plant parents that started taking care of plants at home these first thing you get super emotional about is your plants dying cause youre figuring sunlight and water and all these other things. (random rant: The same plannts dying with all the care you give them will grow right in the middle of the concrete and friggin thrive... go figure!)Anyway, so my plants were dying and through it all... my ZZ (which reminds me of ZZ top, if you dont know, look it up, thank me later for some epic Rock and roll) remained, grew and was just my ray of happiness in starting this new hobby. Ive bought another pair and placed them around and for the life of me, no plant can ever replace ZZs as my absolute favorite! This plant created my first memories of see new stems sprout and watching them grow and just thriving at my house, so im super grateful!So if you've made it this far in the review, ZZs are really easy to take care of and if youre a beginner like I was, I definitely think this should be your first plant pal! Figre the ZZ out, then pick plants that require similar care and then slowly expand from there till you're the Swamp thing! (Read a comic people!)
