The Variegated Plant / Variegated Rubber Plant, a species of the evergreen tropical tree, is quite similar to the regular Rubber Plant. The only difference being that the Variegated ones have beautiful shaded leaves of white, yellow, and greens. It was used for its latex sap to make rubber before synthetics were made available.

Sunlight
- Your Variegated Rubber Tree requires bright indirect sunlight.
- If you place your Variegated Rubber Tree in the shade, it will lose its distinct variegated markings. Placing it in direct sunlight may cause its leaves to burn.
Watering
- Your Variegated Rubber Plant enjoys a moist soil. But ensure the top 1 inch of soil is dry before watering
- Water your Variegated Plant every 5-7 days in summer and every 10-14 in winter
Soil:
- Since your Variegated Rubber Plant won?t tolerate soggy roots, use a well draining soil mixture like a Cactus potting mix.
- For Repotting, use garden soil 30%, cocopeat 25%, vermi compost 25% & perlite 20%
Fertiliser:
Feed the plant monthly with a general houseplant fertiliser during the growing season (spring to summer).
Toxicity:
Variegated Rubber Plant is toxic if consumed and not suitable for spaces with pets and children.
Additional Care Information:
Regularly wipe the leaves of the Variegated Plant with a damp cloth. The large leaves can easily accumulate dust over time.
Troubleshooting:
- Falling leaves along with wet potting mix ? Indicate your Variegated Plant has been overwatered. Wait from the soil to dry out.
- Yellowing, drooping leaves ? Indicates your plant has been overwatered. Ensure you let your plant?s soil completely dry out between waterings, and allow proper drainage.
- Mushy leaves ? Indicates your plant has been overwatered ? immediately stop watering the plant till the top 1 inch of the soil is dry.
Care Product Info
Potting: Plants do not need any special type of potting soil. Being tropical natives, they do well in any well-drained potting soil, rich with organic material. Use a mix of coco-peat, compost, and sand in a 20:60:20 ratio.
Watering: Overwatering is the chief cause of disease or loss of plant life. Do ensure that you don't overwater them. To get plants to show off their richly colored leaves, it is best to wipe them clean with moist tissue or cloth once every month. In drier months, misting them a few times a week could help improve humidity around the plant, helping them flourish.
Fertilising: Feeding your Plant a few times a year is a good way to get them to stay healthy. Give them some organic liquid fertilizer once or twice a year. Dilute it in water as described on the pack and add a little to each pot as part of your watering routine. If you are using a chemical fertiliser do ensure that you keep it away from the plant and its base.
Light:As a tropical plant that grows in the humid bright shade of tropical forests, this plant prefers similar conditions when grown as a houseplant. It dislikes full sunlight, preferring bright, indirect sun, such as that offered by north-facing windows. It will also thrive under fluorescent lights.
