Bright-green leaves grow along its thick, thorny stems. Lower leaves naturally fall off as the plant ages. If your plant gets too tall and leggy, you can prune it back by half its size in spring. This will cause it to branch out.
New stems will grow from below where the pruning cuts were made, making this succulent bushy and full.Euphorbia includes annuals, perennial herbs, shrubs and trees that have a corrosive and poisonous milky sap. Many are succulent and can either be thorny or unarmed. The deciduous leaves can either be alternate, opposite or in whorls. All spurges produce unisexual flowers.Its flowers are actually bracts that last for several weeks and are available in bright pink, red, white or yellow. Todays hybrids produce more -- even bigger -- flowers than ever before. Spring and summer are usually the best seasons for an abundance of blooms.Crown of Thorns flower dependably when they get enough light. Theyre easy to grow and drought-tolerant, prefering slightly dry, sandy soil. This succulent stores water in its thick stems just like a cactus, so it can be watered less frequently than other house plants. If its leaves turn yellow and fall off, cut back on the watering.
Care Product Info
Potting: Plants do not need any special type of potting soil. Being tropical natives, they do well in any well-drained potting soil, rich with organic material. Use a mix of coco-peat, compost, and sand in a 20:60:20 ratio.
Watering: Overwatering is the chief cause of disease or loss of plant life. Do ensure that you don't overwater them. To get plants to show off their richly colored leaves, it is best to wipe them clean with moist tissue or cloth once every month. In drier months, misting them a few times a week could help improve humidity around the plant, helping them flourish.
Fertilising: Feeding your Plant a few times a year is a good way to get them to stay healthy. Give them some organic liquid fertilizer once or twice a year. Dilute it in water as described on the pack and add a little to each pot as part of your watering routine. If you are using a chemical fertiliser do ensure that you keep it away from the plant and its base.
Light:As a tropical plant that grows in the humid bright shade of tropical forests, this plant prefers similar conditions when grown as a houseplant. It dislikes full sunlight, preferring bright, indirect sun, such as that offered by north-facing windows. It will also thrive under fluorescent lights.

The media could not be loaded.Happy to have received my first Areca today..However not too happy with the packaging..The outer packaging was damaged, a lot of the soil had spilled from the tub as a result the rub looked muddy( which can be taken care of) but my major concern here is the numerous yellow and black leaves towards the base of the plant.Another point to keep in mind is That the tub is made of plastic and not ceramic..
